Forgot to ask- what does NSF stand for in the foods at Fitday?

I know I'm struggling to restart toward weight-loss goals again, I'd love to hear more stories of those who have managed to change their life style. Maybe you could interview some of those in your sidebar who are having success. Share some of their secrets with us.

Here's my journal for today so far. I am going out of town, so I'll have to post my weekend on Monday if I don't have email access. Just logging all of this is explaining a whole lot to me and it is only the first day!

Not terribly great first day, but a lot of things were unusual about today and I was unprepared. Tomorrow is a new day!

Man, that is not a lot of food. I think you are in Nicole Richie territory!

My day.
Melodee, you didn’t eat many calories today! Does it help to have a day of eating less than 1200É

Day One is done! I think I have to go to bed now because I've eaten all my alloted calories.

PS: I don't think Melodee imputed her dinner yet - don't panic people!

We went out for dinner, so I am late entering my food for the day! Have no fear, I am in no danger of starving to death. ;)

Not one of my better days. Oh, I don't have my activity listed yet.

NSF is Non Specified Food. It is better to be specific, but if you can't be, you can select that choice and it gives you a range that is sort of in the middle. Like if you didn't know if chicken was cooked with the skin on or fried, it splits the difference.

Here's mine.
A rule of thumb for how to know how many calories to eat is to take your goal weight and multiply it by 10. I'm not one who enjoys feeling hungry so I kept my goal calories at about 1600 for the past year. It's slow but it happened. (190-155)
I'm struggling to lose any more at this point so it may be time to bump it down.
And if my food choice does not match the Fitday calories but was similar in description, I just change the portion size to match the calories that the package said. That way I did not always have to "add new food".

Here's mine, and I'm just starting to journal today because that is my current life: day late and dollar (or MORE) short! :-) http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/PublicJournals.html?Owner=sarahs325

This has got to be one of the scariest things I've ever done! Yes, I journal for WW, but no one really looks at it but me!

I agree with whoever said it is time to go to bed now that our allotted calories for the day are spent. I feel that way often when I'm using FitDay - usually by about 3 p.m.! Logging my food does really help to keep me mindful of what I'm eating.

Help I don't know how to do a journal. But I walked 1 1/2 miles with my dog (he's a fast walker)and ate 1150 calories. I try to make it to 1250 but sometimes I can't eat all that. Especially when my dog and I both drank a gallon of water and went to bed after the walk. Someone tell me how to start a journal quick before i forget what I ate.
