I ended my official exercise streak today. I exercised every single day for fourteen months, give or take a few weeks.
And today, I spent the morning with friends from my adolescence, then drove three hours home, arriving here at 8:00 p.m. I decided somewhere near Snoqualmie Pass that I was not going to exercise when I got home.
I think I proved my point . . . anyone can fit daily exercise into his or her life. I've made it a habit. Now, I'm going to downgrade to five or six days a week.
I'm not even disappointed with myself . . . all good things come to an end eventually. Right? (Mostly, I'm just exhausted from the continuous activity in the past few weeks.)

Congratulations on such an incredible streak!!!
I always shoot for 5 days a week, if my pain levels/headaches work with me. But I'm ok with 3 days a week (mainly because it means I've had a "good" week Chronics-wise).
You definitely have nothing to be disappointed about--what an inspiration!

You have really inspired me with this streak. My goal is to try and do something every day that I can. That will probably get me to 5-6 days a week as well. Thanks for proving that anyone can make time to take care of themselves.

That was a great run. I'm only managing a couple of times a week, and it just isn't enough. I hope your new schedule works out great for you.

What an impressive run! Actually, I think you're better off exercising only 5 times a week or so. It gives your muscles a chance to repair when you take a break every so often (at least I think that's what I've read). Or maybe I'm just making excuses... who knows? Anyway, congratulations. I hope you had fun at your reunion.

That is quite a streak! Very impressive, but what is more impressive is that you're not disappointed in yourself for ending it. :-) Yesterday I ended my 5 day exercise streak. :-P I'm back on today, though. :-)

First congrats Mel...to have a busy family and all and still not miss a day is truly amazing:)
I am thinking that one needs to find a balance of "flexibility" (schedule oriented) and "inflexibility" to make this work for a life time.
Figuring out when it's ok to take a day off...and then how to get FULLY back on track seems to be the challenge for me.

What an amazing accomplishment! What you have done is so inspiring to me. It helps to see that when you really put your mind to it you can do something that may seem impossible. I can not imagine that kind of will power. I hope you will share your secret!
