Wow, Katie is my motivation. It sounds so easy to just eat less and move more, but I now know how hard it can be. It took me less than two months to gain 10lbs, and now I realize I'm going to have to take twice that long to work it off the right way. I'm back to journaling the food I eat every day and if THAT won't motivate you to put the food down, nothing will! Except maybe an unflattering picture or movie! (wink)

Yea you! Glad to have you join my chorus of "my butt my butt my butt! Ouch ouch ouch!" It hurts so good, doesn't it?! One of my trainers LOVES squats and lunges and at least once/month after a killer Friday workout I spend the weekend singing ouch ouch ouch my butt! my legs!

Keep it up!

Well, I was just trying to look up info on it, but the workout I use does opposing muscle groups in rotation rather than same day. I like that since I tend to miss a day here and there and still regularly have sore muscles due to such. Since distraction level at my house runs high at times, I also find it helpful to alternate that way so that I can feel the group I worked more distinctly (especially for upper body.)

So I do abs every workout, and then alternate bi-ceps/deltoids witn tri-ceps/pectorals. For lower body I do inner and outer thighs one day alternated with hamstrings and gluteals the other. I skip quads cause I already have large quads and would rather not pump them up, lol!

Anyway...thought I'd toss you some ideas to help control the "hurts so good" process and make it even more enjoyable!

Had some grat wind resistance out riding last Sunday afternoon...too bad I let my Harley do all the hard work;)

I'm so proud of you! My trainer taught me lunges and squats and free weight exercises on Tuesday too. She said "You know why we're doing this? So when we're 70 we'll be able to get off the toilet." Cracked me up. It feels good to be sore, doesn't it?

Sounds like you are trying everyone's advice!
I think doing different things to work your body will help!
Hurts so good, huh!
I am off to walk on the treadmill. Good luck on weigh in!

LOL The plank! I love the plank! My daughter came home from school last spring trying to show off and said she could hold the plank for 30 seconds. She showed me the exercise, and I challenged her (she's 11 and very teeny...genetically, she took after her father!). At 30 seconds, she collapsed! I was able to hold it for 60+! I was so proud of myself--I mean, I've had three babies...so I figured that 60 seconds wasn't bad at all.

Right now, I'm 17 weeks into my pregnancy and the mirror and I have become semi-permanent enemies, and I dislike scales even more...sigh. I'm carrying big again (I look like I'm five months, not four months, and I measure that way too), so I don't think I could keep my belly off the floor at all doing a plank right now.

Mel--
you are amazing! You have done a phenomenal job of maintaining. That's the hardest part--lifelong maintenance. Plus, you look great! We're not all going to be supermodels and weigh 150. Trust your body. If you are maintaining easily, you are likely where you should be. Throw that silly BMI and/or weight chart away! We love you! You're fabulous...

Oh, BTW...I plan to get "naked" again once the baby arrives! (*winks*)
