So, today starts my second week of Couch to 5K. This running program is only three days a week and, at least for the first two weeks, only thirty minutes a day. Easy, right?
After the first day, I was sore in places I haven't been sore in a long, long time. After the third session, only my right heel hurt. After two days "off", my heel hardly hurts at all. So, yay.
I'm sort of dreading tomorrow (it's 12:45 a.m.), though. I have to run for TWO CONSECUTIVE minutes at a time. Which, when I say that, sounds really funny. Seriously. I can run for TWO minutes at a time. Of course, I have to do it over and over again until I'm gasping for breath.
I hope that sooner or later I won't hate it. I'm sure that day will come. I do remember the last time I got in shape that I liked the actual time exercising. At this point, I'm just doing it in faith that eventually, I'll like it.
I'm also reading a book a reader recommended called Eating Less. So far, I'm just saying to myself, "This is my choice. I can eat whatever I want. I can eat as much as I want." I'd better ZOOM through this part quickly and get to the part that helps me stop actually eating whatever I want, as much as I want!
No, seriously. The point is to free yourself from the pattern of addictive eating, which clearly is something I need to figure out. I believe there is hope. There's always hope unless you quit trying.
Anyway, here's to more running! And less over eating!
How are you doing? Check in and let me know.
