Okay, so the Three Day Challenge went great. Felt great, very virtuous and lost 2.6 pounds.
Then I celebrated my birthday and came down with a cold.
My plan now . . . starting Monday . . . is to do the Whole 30. (They've now kind of fiddled and turned it in the Whole 9, but basically, the Whole 30 is thirty consecutive days of eating protein, vegetables, healthy oils and some fruit.)
It's kind of like Paleo, really mostly just eating whole, actual food.
I read this book (which I found unexpectedly on my Kindle): It Starts with Good: Discover the Whole30 and Change Your Life in Unexpected Ways.
I wanted to start on February 1, but realized that it makes more sense to prepare over the weekend and get started on Monday. (I didn't anticipate this stupid cold which is bumming me out.)
Anyway, so that's the plan, Stan. Join in or just watch . . . but I'm ready to make a big change.
Big fan of Whole 30 - hope you love it! I did it for 35-ish days and then "took a break". Time to get back to it. I'll do it with you starting Monday!

I like the approach - just eating healthy whole and natural foods. (Sounds so simple doesn't it... but we know it isn't!!!)
Good luck!

I'm kind of curious about this. You said at the end of your post that you are ready to make a big change. Does that mean that this will be a lifestyle change for you? Or is it meant to be a detox? Or just jumpstart your body into weight loss/health? Truly curious about the 30-day idea.

Kristen, I intend to use it as a jumpstart. After the 30 days, I will reintroduce dairy and whole grains to see how they make me feel. I don't think I have any sensitivities, so I don't intend to keep grains out of my diet long-term.

Best of luck! I've had the most success with eating that way. For the past month I've been eating Paleo/South Beach and feel great. I've lost 13 pounds and cravings have been pretty minimal. I've found that planning meals ahead of time and being able to have options have been two of the most important factors in my diet and success.
