So I am ten days (or so) into the first two weeks of the South Beach Diet. This phase of the diet reminds me a lot of Paleo but I still get to have cheese (shredded romano or ricotta, for instance).
I've lost six pounds and I'm feeling hopeful. I'm eating just about 100% in compliance with the program. (I ate a smallish bowl of leftover tortellini tonight that my kids had made and left on the stove.)
I haven't walked at all lately . . . my foot is still painful. I described it to my daughter as feeling like I'm stepping on a knife. It feels sore in the place that you'd use to dig a shovel into the ground--you know how you push the shovel with your foot? Anyway, hearing someone complain about their pain is boring. But it hurts when I walk across the room and so I'm avoiding longer walks.
I am about to make a doctor's appointment but it takes me forever to follow through with calling the doctor's office because I hate doing that sort of thing. It's irrational and dumb--or quirky, if you want to be kind--but I know I'll do it sooner or later.
But probably not tomorrow.
